Jim Van Bebber. One helluva filmmaker……
So here’s this guy, this underground filmmaker. Jim Van Bebber. With such films as the classic revenge film DEADBEAT AT DAWN, KATA, ROADKILL: THE LAST DAYS OF JOHN MARTIN, MY SWEET SATAN, DOPER and a few music videos such as SKINNY PUPPIES video collection and NECROPHAGIA’s -Through The Eyes Of The Dead. Make-up on DB A D, which you have to see is pretty savage, acted in many a films. edited, and whatever else brings on indie mayhem. So as you can see, or read about if anyone here hasn’t heard of this dude, he’s into some pretty crazy shit. He’s always referenced in magazines for his links to killer music and taboo subjects. So I thought i’d throw him a few questions because I just need to know……..
So Jim, what’s been goin’ on with yourself lately?
You love music, especially some dark shit. what have you worked on?
You’ve been workin on the manson family film for a while, finally finished correct? Phil Anselmo helped with the soundtrack correct?
Deadbeat at Dawn has become such a cult underground hit, what was with doin’ a sort of vigilante film instead of a horror which you seem to be quite associated with.
Dark sky films is gonna re-release some of your work?
Would you chalk up your inspiration from drugs, music, movies or all of the above?
What are some of your favourite tunes to listen to?
As i anxiously await his answers, this is what i get………….
So………….
“The Manson Family” was finished in 2003 and had a 22 city theatrical run in 2004. It was recently included by Dark Sky Films as part of a 4-Disc Box Set: “Visions Of Hell: The Films Of Jim VanBebber”…Myself and Mike King covered the 2006 Down Tour…Don’t know what’ll happen with that…it’s in Phil’s hands…Trying now to launch “CAPONE: The King Of Crime”.
Take Care, Jim VanBebber
Wellllllllll, i guess that was that.
